Dating apps are a transformative technology

Dating apps have changed how we meet, have sex, and form relationships. But although their use is widespread, only half of users have positive experiences. Unwanted sexualisation is common, some users experience discrimination, and many people feel that dating apps encourage behaviour which conflicts with their values or romantic ideals.

Our aim is to better understand the ethical aspects of online dating and explore how dating apps can empower us, keep us physically and mentally well, and promote flourishing intimacy.
